Aspetuck Land Trust Inc. is a non-profit Connecticut Corporation devoted to preserving open space and the natural resources of Easton, Fairfield, Weston and Westport for the benefit of the public. It was formed in 1966 by leading area conservationists. Blueberries by the people, for the people

Last week I attended a blueberry picking session with other ALT volunteers who help prune the blueberry bushes in the Spring. It was beautiful weather and the berries were plentiful (although don't worry, there were plenty of unripe ones that are waiting for you to hike in and get them). People of all ages, from 2 and up, were there with buckets, baskets and open mouths to harvest berries. I came with 2 helpers, my 5 year old and 4 year old, and we treated ourselves to blueberry pancakes for dinner, blueberry jam for breakfast, and blueberry snacks all weekend. Stash just ran out today. Time for a Trout Brook Valley hike!
