Natural Playground - Taking Shape!

It was a beautiful May Day and a large group of volunteers, young and old, gathered at Schine to begin construction on the Natural Playground. We made a lot of progress on the Rock Pit, the Tower, and one of the 2 Entrances. We also did a lot of area cleanup. The kids had a lot of fun helping - they loved trying out the adult tools but also gathered rocks/sticks for the rock pit and planted some flowers. The kids also had fun exploring the area - we found worms, salamanders, and great places to climb. It is a lovely clearing - just the right size for little people with short legs and curious minds.

The next group meets this Saturday, May 8. We will be finishing up the Tower and Rock Pit, and beginning construction on our other play areas (Bear's Den, Stick Stack, and 2nd Entrance). Let's hope for decent weather!
