The Aspetuck Land Trust Blog

Aspetuck Land Trust Inc. is a non-profit Connecticut Corporation devoted to preserving open space and the natural resources of Easton, Fairfield, Weston and Westport for the benefit of the public. It was formed in 1966 by leading area conservationists. Through generous gifts of land, continued efforts of volunteers, and cooperation from town agencies, the Aspetuck Land Trust has preserved over 1,700 acres of land, which will be maintained in a natural state in perpetuity.

Hike Preview: Crow Hill to the Orchard with Peter Oldershaw


If you want to see this fall's most spectacular leaf show, join Peter this Sunday, October 26. Last week's hike was amazing; one of our biggest groups ever!

1:00pm - 3:00pm
Location: Easton off Woodland Drive. Rte. 58 past Bluebird Restaurant to Norton Rd, to Wydlewood to Woodland Drive.Park: At cul-de-sac on Woodland Walk: Loop walk: Crow Hill White to Red to Blue to Magenta to Orchard and back.

"See the best of the 167-acre Crow Hill Preserve, a good example of old CT farm land returning to forest with lots of beautiful stone walls. Also see the splendor of CT fall leaf color from the top of the Orchard. The views at this time of year are spectacular. Note: Dogs are welcome.Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Should be about 2 hours..."

Wear some hiking boots to make your day more comfortable. And bring a water bottle!
